What d'ya Think? Watercolor by Hawaii Artist, Arlene W. Woo

Penguins in Hawaii?  No, but for some reason I decided to paint them -- from a photo.  It was a challenge with the limited palette, but I think I have a story here.  8"x11".  Available unframed.  Contact me: Arlene G. Woo

Kissing Koi, Acrylic on Canvas, Hawaii Artist, Arlene G. Woo

There is something about koi that attracts me:  I think it's their ease in their environment.  Some of these are Butterfly Koi from by friend Sheila's pond.  I must admit this painting took a while -- not as fast as watercolor on Yupo, but I'm happy with the result.  $1200 + shipping.  Let me know what you think:

Flute Player, Mixed Media, Arlene G. Woo Hawaii Artist

The Flute Player was awarded first prize in the Contemporary Fine Arts International Artists Challenge for March 2014 Mixed Media.  You may see my interview on under Artist Showdown, Colors on my Palette Interview.  I am quite pleased.
This Flute Player was accepted into the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce "Commitment to Excellence" Art Exhibition.  I used representational images collage pieces along with watercolors and stamping.  The technique was challenging but fun.

A New Beginning, Watercolor by Arlene G. Woo, Hawaii Artist

This watercolor was inspired at Enchanted lakes where I was doing dog agility training.  I loved the intense color of the sky against the mountains at evening.  I poured part, painted part, and left part alone.  This image was selected by Juror Jan Ledbetter for the Hawaii Watercolor Society Members Show in April.  Size: 15 x 22".  $700.

Diamond Mare, Acrylic, Hawaii Artist, Arlene G. Woo

Diamond Mare is the third in the Chinese New Year's Year of the Horse.  I figured I should just keep moving out.  I limited my colors and stuck to geometric shapes -- something new for me.  This is the first time I have actually done a "series" -- not sure I could do it again.  Which of the three do you like?

In honor of the Chinese Year of the Horse, I have painted three horse paintings.  Night Mare actually revealed herself through Maggie and Isabel, so Maggie and Isabel are no more.
